Learning Productivity

Disruptive technologies have permeated global services, communication (digital), accommodation (Airbnb) and transportation (Uber). The nudge of technological disruption, has not stirred the sleeping giant of classroom learning, - till now The EP Code's Digitally Automated Phonetics (DAP) system of Reading and Speaking, is performance based with learning productivity inherent in its DNA: The strategy builds on the belief that the best learning technology empowers deep human engagement between the learners and the learned.

Expert Opinion

Ms Lesley Englert
Digitally Automated Phonetic Program - 'Start@5 fluent @7'

In English, there are over 1000's of ways to write 44 different sounds made by the 26 letters of the alphabet and the connection between the way words are spoken and how the words look on the page is often quite dissimilar and confusing.

Students in countries such as Finland that have a phonetically uniform language (where each letter represents a single sound) usually learn to read within a year and their literacy rates are much higher than in those in countries with English as the native language.

I have had the opportunity to not only scrutinise this approach but also to observe it in practice, in the classroom. Digitally Automated Phonetic Program 'Start@5 fluent @7' uses digital technology to support students to recognise sounds and part words rather than use the traditional syllabic approach.

I observed students in their first year of schooling (aged between 4.5 and 5.5 years) reading whole words independently after only one term of working with this approach. At this stage, in classrooms where a traditional approach is used, students are taught one letter at a time and their rate of progress is much slower.

PROFOUND RESULTS

Mr Jeff Davis

" At Hillcrest, we recently carried out a strategic Pilot Program in reading for five year olds, Prep and Year 1 students, using this breakthrough technology, the "English Phonetic Code Program". The results are outstanding.

Children in the program are reading and speaking English in 3 months! This includes two of our special education boys with ASD All students in the program are now reading at incredible levels. The trial has been so successful that my leadership team have unanimously supported a decision, to continue tocollaborate with other performance orientated schools, and therein implement this program in 2016 for all students." - Extract
