Video primmer

This program is focussed on children from 0-5 years of age. The program is a series of forty, 30 second learning episodes that is best achieved can be used directly by the child or far more effectively used as a caring, loving and learning interaction between the child and a parent or sibling.

Thinking

• The first form of human thinking starts at about 12 days of age when the child begins matching the sight and movement of the mother's mouth to their sense of hearing
• With unparalleled success and commitment, parents unintentionally teach the most complex of all human achievements, human speech, by about 3 years of age.
• When children commence formal schooling they have a verbal vocabulary and understanding of approximately 3,000 words.
• With reading now a precise science, 100% correct 100% of the time, as with speech, it could be taught as a skill by parents and other role models.
• When reading is traditionally commenced at school we are seeking to 'catchup' the child's reading skills to their already existing vocabulary and understanding of approximately 3000 words

Additional design thinking

• Video Primer* is a technology targeted at teaching reading printed text, simultaneously with the speaking of the language
• There is a synergy between hearing and seeing as well as learning synergy between speech and reading: the rhythm and flow of language.
• Video Primer also has a zooming strategy, designed to develop in children an ability to read as small as 6 point font by 6 years of age. This ability is traditional not developed till 10 years of age.

Reading and Speaking literacy program

• This predominate school age approach uses a simply 4 colour code to teach reading and speaking so that a child can start @5 fluent @7"

Preservation of Common and Endangered languages

Background

• Language is a cornerstone to the culture of any civilisation. All spoken languages have as their basic building blocks vowels and consonants. Vowels, consonants, their sounds and interactions must be systematically recorded and documented in order that the language, as once spoken and read by its community, can be preserved in perpetuity.
• The Australian indigenous culture is the oldest continuous human culture on the planet. An article titled Language Diversity Declining by the Worldwatch Institute, estimated that 90 per cent of the languages spoken by Australia's aboriginal people will disappear within the current generations. According to Worldwatch, Australia has more extinct languages than any other country, having lost 188 in contrast to 70 in the United States and 30 in Brazil and it has been said the world is now losing at least one language every month.
